Sage CRM 7.1 tends to be a popular alternative to Microsoft CRM in the UK, usually due to Sage CRM being sold with integration to the Sage Accounts package which makes it convenient for businesses to work with their financial accounting and customer data seamlessly. At first glance the look and feel may seem similar to Microsoft CRM, however the architecture is more open to manipulation. From a developers perspective this means you may have slightly more flexibility to customise with less restrictions and the possibility of issues with Data integrity arises and we have noticed the platform is not as stable and Microsoft Dynamics CRM and has the tendencies to crash and stall more often. Another disadvantage is that all the workflows and additional pages have to be developed by a third party developer, where as Microsoft Dynamics CRM allows you to create most workflows and additional pages through its customisations user interface. It seems that Sage will always be a few steps behind whilst Microsoft lead the way, having put in a lot more resources to ensuring Dynamics CRM remains a major competitor and it is a lot more of a complete solution which the potential of enabling business to perform customisations without relying on third party developers.
